As comfortable in sports and lifestyle as in comedy, Parisian director Joaquim Bayle has already directed films and campaigns for clients like Nike, Google, Carhartt Wip, Asics, Adidas, Oakley, Cowboy Bikes and Jordan.
Intentionally avoiding superficiality, his directing style is always at the service of the intention of the project with the drive to create stripped-back ads.
During these years, which he saw as an artistic challenge, he began to take an interest in a very singular and existential cinema drawing its inspiration from the tragicomedy and the absurd. His first short film GWENDOLINE, a black comedy featuring a post-punk band desperately searching for a crowd to play to was screened at top tier Oscars qualifying film festivals (Jury's honorable mention at the Slamdance Festival, Cinema Jove in Valencia, AIFVF…).
Joaquim is currently working on his second short film : LE PAS DE CÔTÉ a philosophical tale on the paradox of desire, halfway between a tale of the ordinary life and a surrealist film.
